Art exhibition in Bell

BELL: Organisers of the 2020 annual Bell Art Exhibition have been overwhelme­d by the number of art entries received.

Members of the Bell Art Group are gearing up for the annual exhibition, which will be held in the Bell Memorial Public Hall from Saturday, February 22 to Sunday, March 1.

Art lovers, participat­ing artists, patrons, family and friends are invited to attend the gala opening and presentati­on of awards evening on February 22 from 7pm.

Admission is $10 per person and includes total exhibition viewing, finger food supper and compliment­ary wine or fruit juice.

Most of the original art works on display are for sale.

The 30 classes of the art schedule cover a wide variety of subject matter and mediums and are always a great source of attraction for artists on all levels, including the popular junior section.

A total of 500 entries have been received including around 190 for the junior art section from Our Lady of the Southern Cross School, the Dalby Christian School and the Bell State School as well as individual participan­ts.

Renowned and acclaimed artist and art tutor, Donald James Water OAM is looking forward to coming to Bell to judge the entries.

Mr Water is an establishe­d Australian artist with an illustriou­s career spanning over three decades.

While best described as a contempora­ry artist, Mr Water’s artwork transcends many genres to create a truly unique yet ever evolving and eclectic style.
