Chance to meet top motorcycle riders
GRAND Central will host a meet and greet this Thursday night with some of the top motorcycle riders in the country, ahead of the Australian and Queensland OffRoad Championships.
The meet and greet will be held from 6.30pm to 7.30pm on Thursday, February 20 in the Centre Court.
“This is a great chance for fans to meet these motorcycle riders who are at the top of their sport, check out their bikes and have something signed,” Grand Central marketing manager Julie Thompson said.
“There will also be a Q&A session with the riders, where they will talk about what they’ve been up to in the offseason, the upcoming season, and their goals for the year.”
The event will be held ahead of rounds one and two of the Australian Off-Road Championship and Queensland Off-Road Championship, which are being held on February 22 and 23 just outside Toowoomba.
Nathan Bond from the Toowoomba Motorcycle Club said these events were the official enduro racing motorcycle championships of Motorcycling Australia and Motorcycling Qld.
“It’s an amazing achievement for Toowoomba to be chosen to host these events, kicking off the 2020 season, and we’re encouraging people to come along and enjoy a great event,” Mr Bond said.
Mr Bond said the Australian Off-Road Championship was the nationally and internationally recognised Australian Championship in offroad.
“Current defending Australian champions will be competing such as Luke Styke and Daniel Milner, along with world champion Daniel Sanders,” he said.
“Other top riders including Josh Green, Mason Semmens, Jonte Reynders, as well as current Queensland state Enduro and World Champion Fraser Higlett, will also compete at the event.
“You can meet all of these guys at the Grand Central event on Thursday night, and watch them in action on the weekend in the championship rounds.”
The event will be at 393 Willis Rd, Meringandan. Racing starts at 8am.
“We’re very thankful to Kerion Luck who has offered his cattle property for the event,” Mr Bond said.
