Against its vast and majestic landscapes, full of lush meadows, deep forests and violent hot springs, this landmark series follows the intertwining stories of Yellowstone’s iconic inhabitants: the grey wolf, the grizzly bear and herds of antelope and buffalo. Tonight’s premiere episode begins in Yellowstone’s winter and the wildlife is forced to adapt to survive. Join presenter Kate Humble as she gets to grips with the science behind this remarkable season. Meanwhile, biologist Patrick Aryee follows the grizzly bears as they leave their winter dens early.

In tonight’s episode, viewers will meet estranged brothers John and Lonnie, who are complete opposites in every way.
