Live, learn, work, play: strong regional pride
IT HAS been my privilege to serve the community as a Toowoomba Regional Councillor since 2012 and the enormous responsibility is not lost on me.
Born and raised in Toowoomba, our local family business dates back five generations to 1901.
For eight years now as your elected representative, I have shown my passion for great community outcomes – my enthusiasm to every task undertaken and the experience of listening to concerns and desires of the community.
My vision for the region is simple: to make the Toowoomba Region the most desirable place to live, learn, work and play.
How do we achieve this? Balance economic growth and liveability
Focus on protecting and preserving our precious environment, heritage and culture
Celebrate and support our regional diversity Maintain a focus on Council’s long term financial sustainability
Support health and safety of each community member One of the greatest strengths of the Toowoomba Region is the uniqueness and diversity of the townships spread across a 13,000sq km footprint.
The Toowoomba Regional Council has introduced incentives and grants to support our townships, however there is opportunity to evaluate the success of these.
Council can develop even more ways to celebrate and support every township across the region.
If you want a councillor with genuine care and passion for the Toowoomba Region with experience, enthusiasm and a proven track record, vote Geoff McDonald.
