DELIVERING IN A TIME OF CRISIS
THE owner of Murray’s Art and Framing has launched an art supplies delivery service, describing the current climate as an “adapt or die” situation for businesses.
Sue McMaster said she was now hand delivering supplies to Toowoomba homes.
‘The situation has changed, and no one wants to come down town,” Ms McMaster said.
“I guess it’s adapt or die and we don’t want to drown.
“We want to keep our staff employed, and we want to keep our customers supplied, because I think creativity will be one of the things that helps keep us sane.”
Ms McMaster said she opened the deliveries on Monday and had already taken a number of items to customers.
“We’re doing cheap deliveries in the CBD because I live in town and if I can drop it on my way home that is easy,” she said.
“It gets a bit dearer when you get onto the outskirts, but basically we are ranging between $5 to $20 depending on how far out of town.
“We have received a lot of positive feedback from customers via email saying it’s fantastic - so that’s good.”
She added it was a good time to stock up on art supplies.
“A lot of artists say they don’t have the time and all of a sudden we are having all of this time forced on us,” she said.
“Now is also a perfect time to learn, there is so much online about how to do it and, if you shop locally, you can get (supplies) the same day.”
Ms McMaster is also providing an out-of-town delivery option using the post and bus services.
