Coffee and computers

-

WITH more people working from home using their computer and joining Zoom meetings online, it becomes easy to forget good computer practices.

People like to drink coffee next to their computer keyboard, which you might have already discovered is not such a good idea.

It only takes the slightest bump to spill a cup of coffee all over your computer keyboard, which does havoc with the system you are using.

Spilt coffee on a keyboard requires an expensive visit to a repair shop. If you are using a desktop computer, this often means a new keyboard and a system repair.

If you spill coffee on a laptop as I recently did, the laptop needs to be taken apart and repaired by a professional. Oftentimes coffee spills mean the keyboard connector on your motherboard won’t work anymore, so it means you must plug in an external keyboard to your laptop.

No, not a good idea to drink coffee next to your computer. DAVE FREDERICKS, Toowoomba
