Next year will mark a new milestone for Victory Cruise Lines – its new exploration ship, Ocean Victory, will make its debut, taking passengers to North American lakes and coastline, offering deepnature, all-inclusive expedition voyages in Alaska for the first time.
Built expressly for remote and polar exploration and sporting a sweptback X-bow that promises a smoother ride, the deluxe, eco-friendly Ocean Victory will take just 200 guests to more rugged, distant and less visited reaches of Alaska to provide closer encounters with the state’s wild scenery and animals.
The hi-tech, clean-fuel ship will boast a spectacular, aft-facing infinity pool, jacuzzi, two restaurants, panoramic observation lounge overlooking the bow, library, fitness centre and spa, piano bar and 93 staterooms, all with ocean views and 79 per cent with private balconies.
Set for completion in late 2020, Ocean Victory will also carry 20 Zodiac craft, a fleet of kayaks and a team of naturalists, marine biologists, scientists and historians.
To mark the debut of Ocean Victory, Australian small ship specialist, Cruise Traveller, which represents Victory Cruise Lines in Australia, has released a special new 15-night Alaskan Victory fly, cruise and stay package, with departures in July, August and September, 2021.
Savings of $7860 per couple are available for bookings made by September 30, 2020, and an add-on, three-night Rocky Mountaineer rail adventure extension to the Rockies is also available.
Afer a flight from Australia and two nights in the Russian-styled Alaskan town of Sitka, guests will board the new Ocean Victory for an 11-night journey to Vancouver via tiny villages and through stunning, cliff-lined fjords bigger ships cannot reach, as well as close to thundering waterfalls, mighty glaciers, soaring peaks, dense fir forests and wildlife such as humpback whales, orcas, dolphins, bear, deer, moose, mink, otters and sea lions.
Destinations in Alaska and British Columbia include Kake, Petersburg, Wrangell, Prince Rupert, Metlakatla, Misty Fjords, Frederick Sound and Tracy and Endicott Arms.
Guided Zodiac and kayak excursions are complimentary as are on-board lectures, freeflowing beverages and on-board gratuities.
At the end of the cruise, before the flight home, the package includes two nights in a five-star hotel in Vancouver and a daytrip ferry tour to Victoria on Vancouver Island, including entry to the world-famous Butchart Gardens.
Including flights, the cruise, hotel accommodation and on-board beverages and excursions, the 15-night Alaskan Victory package is available from $12,995 per person, twin-share, a saving of $3930 per person if booked by September 30, 2020.
Departures from Australia are available for July 11, August 1 and 22 and September 12 in 2021.
An add-on, three-night rail and coach journey through the spectacular Rocky Mountains aboard the iconic Rocky Mountaineer train is also available as an extension from Vancouver from $4995 per person, twin-share.
