Queensland X-Ray opens new practice in Highfields
QUEENSLAND X-Ray is committed to providing the highest quality diagnostic medical radiology service to the Toowoomba and Darling Downs region.
Their practices use state-ofthe-art imaging equipment and have been providing the local community with a safe, comfortable and caring environment for over 30-years.
The second half of 2020 has been a period of significant activity for Queensland X-Ray’s Darling Down’s region with the opening of their sixth practice at Highfields and the relocation of their St Vincent’s practice within the new $15m hospital expansion due for completion in November.
Highfields practice now open
The establishment of a brand new million-dollar practice in the rapidly growing suburb of Highfields cements their unwavering support for the local community.
“We are very fortunate to have had the longstanding support of the Toowoomba community for so many years.
“We take great pride in the opportunity to open the first diagnostic imaging facility in Highfields, providing our patients with a more convenient location for their imaging needs,” said Managing Radiologist, Dr Peter Storey.
Relocation of St Vincent’s Private Hospital practice
The existing St Vincent’s practice is scheduled to move across to a brand new radiology department located in the new St Vincent’s Private Hospital development in November.
Patients will feel comfortable in the new, modern surroundings and will still be able to access the same important services of nuclear medicine, ultrasound, x-ray, CT and MRI.
Images and reports
A critical component of Queensland X-Ray’s service offering is remaining at the forefront of patient image and result delivery. Images and reports are available via an online digital platform that allows patients to hold their own health information, in a secure and convenient location.
It also removes the need for transitional x-ray film, which is great news for the environment.
Employing locals
Queensland X-Ray employs over 90 local residents including Radiologists, Radiographers, Sonographers, Nurses, and Technical and Clerical staff.
Recent additions to Queensland X-Ray’s Toowoomba radiologist team – Dr Roger Mitchell, Dr Nishani Atapattu and Dr Priya Harish, further demonstrates their commitment to providing the best service, care and clinical outcomes for the local community.
First class services
Across Queensland X-Ray’s six practices in the Darling Down’s region, they offer a fully comprehensive medical imaging service.
Bookings are required for a number of procedures; however same day appointments are available.
Patients can also have a general x-ray performed without the need to make an appointment
beforehand, as these are available on a ‘walk in’ basis at most of their practices.
