MINDfit ready to promote good mental health

-

THROUGH their ongoing commitment to improving mental health in local workplaces, Lifeline Darling Downs and South West Qld Ltd have partnered with the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce to deliver Lifeline’s MINDfit program.

MINDfit is a two-hour, inhouse presentation designed to promote good mental health in the workplace.

MINDfit aims to educate participants on how to identify and support someone with a mental illness as well as ways they can improve their own mental health and wellbeing.

“I encourage local businesses to embrace our program and take a proactive approach to promoting good mental health practices in their workplace,” said Derek Tuffield CEO –

Lifeline Darling Downs.

“With poor mental health in the workplace affecting one in five employees each year, businesses need to look after their most valuable asset – their staff.”

Toowoomba Chamber CEO Todd Rohl said, “Personal and mental wellbeing is a critical part of ensuring a productive and safe workplace. It is important to every day be kind, support each other and look out for one another.”

The two-hour presentation will assist staff from all levels in an organisation to take a proactive approach to colleagues or staff members who may already suffer from a mental illness, while also promoting good mental health practices in the workplace.

MINDfit is being held on

Tuesday, October 27 from 9.30am to 11.30 and bookings are essential.

Ticket cost is $75 for Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce members and $100 for non-members.

Ticket price includes morning tea.
