The results for Wednesday 17 February’s afternoon social bowls were: first prize to Tony Ryan, Mike Chandler and Ian Prodger; and Ray Weis, Roger Haldane and Les Chikos picked up the second spot. Results of intraclub competitio­n matches played on Saturday 20 February were: Open Fours – Ray Weis, Bevan Wingett, Bret Cannon and Howard Cornwell def Tony Collins, Tony Ryan, Lachlan Barnes and Peter Best; Open Singles – Stephen Emmerton def Shane Case. Matches are called for Saturday 27 February: Mixed Pairs – Tony Ryan and Kerry Ryan vs Kerry Lovell and Therese Smith, Bevan Wingett and Bev Melit vs Tony Collins and Vicki Horsburgh; Open Pairs – Daryl Fraser and Ian Prodger vs Bill Kruger and Jamie Keane. Additional­ly, the intraclub match called for Saturday 06 March is: Open Pairs – Kerry Lovell and Andrew Tabor vs Ray Weis and Peter Best. All members and guests will be required to comply with a COVID-19 protocol in order to enter the premises in future. Use of your smartphone in combinatio­n with the club’s QR code, or a written record will be mandatory until further notice. Sunday 21 February’s Hard Case Brothers Arvo was taken out by Lachlan Barnes, Brett Case and Jenni Svensson, and runners up were Bret Cannon, Alex Cannon and Keith Melit. Unfortunat­ely, our club’s regular program of Tuesday night Burger Bowls is not scheduled for February/March this year. However, it will reappear later in 2021 bigger and better than ever. The annual Crow’s Nest Heritage Bank Open Fours Carnival will be played over the weekend of 13 and 14 March, so if you haven’t got a team in yet – you’re running out of time! The next meeting of the management committee has been brought forward to Sunday 07 March @ 0930.
