Relax at one of the country’s finest golf and spa resorts

-

WITH its magnificent surf beaches, pristine national parks, and world-class shopping and dining, Noosa is a great place to visit at any time – indeed, it’s probably Australia’s favourite seaside getaway.

And if you’re one of those travellers who pack their golf clubs as a matter of course, it’s the holiday destination of a lifetime.

Just a couple of kilometres from iconic Hastings Street – where stylish restaurants jostle with fashion boutiques for the attention of sun-bathed strollers – lies Noosa Springs Golf and Spa Resort.

Here you’ll find an oasis of serenity set amidst the tropical bushland of the Noosa hinterland. You reach it by following a tree-lined avenue through a lush rainforest to be greeted by a classic European-inspired clubhouse.

As you enter the resort, you’ll pass by the Golf Shop where, apart from balls, clubs and golf equipment, you’ll find a range of fine sporting fashionwear – the sort of gear you’d normally expect to see in Melbourne or Sydney boutiques.

Tucked just out of sight is the spa – a temple of peace and serenity that relaxes the senses and nurtures the body, mind and spirit. Some guests make the trip to Noosa Springs with no other intent than to pamper themselves in this amazing place.

For many, though, it’s the golf course that entices them.

The par 72, 6180m course is a golfer’s delight, regularly ranked among the top 100 Australian courses.

Each year, the PGA of Australia chooses Noosa Springs to host one of the Q School qualifying tournaments that determines which aspiring stars get the chance to play on the Australasian Tour.

That doesn’t mean Noosa Springs is a monster.

It’s tight, to be sure, with fairways weaving their way through trees and around the 10 lakes which come into play on 12 of the holes, placing a real premium on accuracy and precision.

But it’s not particularly long, and players of varying degrees of skill will find it challenging, rewarding and enjoyable.

After a round of golf, most players choose to visit the terrace bar for a cool drink, a coffee or a snack.

Or they can dine at Noosa Spring’s acclaimed Relish restaurant, which is open for lunch every day and dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. Make sure to check out the popular lunch special.

Accommodation at Noosa Springs comprises spacious one-bedroom and two-bedroom, self-contained apartments that feature a fully equipped kitchen, king size beds, two private balconies, flatscreen TV and free WiFi.

They’re so roomy, two couples can share a two-bedder without realising anybody else is there.

Guests enjoy unlimited use of Noosa Springs’ fitness centre, heated swimming pool, and access to the tennis courts, where expert coaching staff are available to help improve anybody’s game.

Noosa Springs offers a range of discounts and specials. For example, a family of two adults and two children (16 years and under) can enjoy three nights’ accommodation, daily breakfast and a day of golf for the whole family for just $1100.

And if you book your next holiday 30 days in advance, you may qualify for 15% off the cost of accommodation.

The resort also offers a free booking service to Sunshine Coast attractions like Australia Zoo, Aussie World, the Sea Life aquarium, and to visit Fraser Island.
