WHY ISAIAH IS ALREADY A BIG WINNER

-

SINGER Isaiah Firebrace will make history when he sings part of the Australian anthem in an indigenous language at Sydney’s Royal Randwick Racecourse on Saturday.

“As a proud Aboriginal man it’s important to be able to showcase our culture and honour Aboriginal people across Australia,” Firebrace said. “I love being able to sing in language and share our beautiful culture with the wider community.”

Firebrace, who won The X Factor in 2016 and has represented Australia at Eurovision, will sing the first verse of the anthem in language before the big race at The Championships Day Two: Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day.

“It will be a bit nerve wracking,” the 21-year-old said, posing for a photo with Katelyn Mallyon and Realm Of Flowers.

Firebrace performed the national anthem in Eora language in front of the Sydney Harbour Bridge to mark Australia Day last year.
