Sally Challen bludgeoned her husband Richard to death as he sat eating lunch at their kitchen table in Surrey, England. She then covered his body in a pair of old curtains and left a note that said “I love you” at the scene. In 2011, she was convicted of his murder after a seven-day trial and was sentenced to 22 years behind bars. This 90-minute documentar­y follows Challen’s journey to appeal her conviction on the grounds she was the victim of her husbands ‘coercive control’, a newly understood type of psychologi­cal abuse.
