- MICHAEL NOLAN

TRAFFIC in the heart of the Toowoomba CBD was brought to a standstill yesterday after a group of teenagers jumped on the back of a freight train.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said police were called to the incident on Margaret Street near Grand Central about 4pm on Tuesday.

“There were reports of a massive amount of congestion,” the spokesman said.

It was reported that at least one teenager jumped on the rear of the train.

Several police units responded and reportedly took five teens into custody.

The incident caused gridlock traffic around the Garden City’s main thoroughfares.
