Bumper fields for speedway action

-

SPEEDWAY: A bumper field of thirty sprintcars has been nominated for the Queensland Sprintcar Title at Toowoomba’s Hi-Tec Oils Speedway over the ANZAC Day long weekend.

Current Queensland champion Lachlan McHugh is looking to make it three in a row as he continues his domination of the 2020/2021 Queensland Sprintcar season.

McHugh cruised home to win round 10 of the East Coast Logistics Track Championship at Archerfield Speedway on Sunday night.

He faced little resistance in the 30-lap feature race, leading every lap to clinch his eleventh Brisbane feature win for the season.

McHugh may find a little more pressure though on Saturday night when Robbie Farr arrives back in town driving for the Sydney-based Mick Seller Motorsport.

Matthew Dumesny also makes his return to Toowoomba as do Jesse Attard and David Murcott from Warrnambool.

Toowoomba’s Nick Whell and Anthony Lambert have also nominated in a host of top Queensland cars which include Aaron Kelly, Brent Kratzman and Luke Oldfield.

Night one will be supported by round four of the Modified Sedan Series featuring Shane and Nathan McDonald and Rodney Pammenter, the current series leader.

Thirty-one cars have nominated for the Toowoomba round in street stocks in which Robert Trapp is the current series leader.

Compact speedcars will also be competing on night one and 31 production cars will highlight the support program on the second night with Thirty Junior Sedans AMCA Nationals, mod lites and fireworks.

With the lifting of COVID restrictions, patrons are now allowed to walk between the pits and spectator areas.

Racing begins at 5pm with the main program from 6pm.
