You’d be a fool to let your guard down. After all, they say that the wisest among us sleep with one eye open, alert to the threat of wolves in sheep’s clothing. At least, that’s how some people see the world. I’m not so convinced. Is suspicion inherently wise? Is any form of relaxation foolish and, by extension, dangerous? Not in my book. In reality, the more suspicious we become the more we find to be suspicious about. If you choose to trust the process that evolves today, it will take you where you want to go.

LEO JUL 24 – AUG 23

People sometimes write to me because they’re worried about the positive tone of their predictions. They’re concerned that since there’s no bad news, I’m just covering up their difficulties and challenges and trying to prepare them by keeping their spirits up. But that’s just a classic case of cynicism. There’s nothing wrong with genuinely looking for the good, even in challenging times. While it’s worth considering the difference between what someone says, and what they mean today, there’s no reason to start worrying.

SAGITTARIUS NOV 23 – DEC 21

If something seems to make sense today, then there’s a good chance you’re missing a piece of the puzzle, overlooking a fundamental component, or have misunderstood an essential argument. If, on the other hand, you’re bamboozled by anything and everything, then you’re much more likely to be on the right track. Have faith that you’re not lost in your confusion, and that it won’t last for much longer. As you’re about to discover, where there is mystery there is also opportunity. You’ll soon know exactly what to do.

TAURUS APR 21 – MAY 21

Anger is one of the most challenging emotions. Yet, think of it as being like a horse, while passion is like a carriage. Since there are many different kinds of horses and activities we can embark on with them, we can respond to anger in different ways. We can saddle the steed of stimulation, harness the workhorse of hard work, or climb onto the high horse of pride. No matter how you pull a carriage of optimism, you end up going somewhere. Put positive effort into the most logical plan you come across today.

VIRGO AUG 24 – SEP 23

Some things just take the time they take. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting that you sit on your laurels. If a straightforward alternative appears, then take advantage, and hurry the process along. But there’s no need to feel despondent if you aren’t seeing progress as quickly as you’d like. It’s not proof that you’ve chosen the wrong path, made the wrong decision, or are simply wasting your time. You don’t need to reset your expectations either. If you allow time to work its magic, the result will be worth waiting for.

CAPRICORN DEC 22 – JAN 20

When a salesperson wants to encourage a market, and ensure a successful deal, they try to create a sense of scarcity. They want to convey the idea that what they’re offering is in short supply, and that, since lots of other people are interested in their product, the only safe thing for the buyer to do in the circumstances is to seal the deal before it’s too late. Confidence is contagious. Yet doubt can self-replicate too. To achieve what you want to achieve today, you need to believe in yourself. You’ll find it easy to sell your latest idea.

GEMINI MAY 22 – JUN 22

We can’t have this without that. X wouldn’t have gone wrong if Y hadn’t happened. Issue P is the direct result of decision Q. I could go on. We’re all guilty of drawing these kinds of straightforward causal links, yet it’s rare that we can support them with categoric evidence. More often, we support our analysis with suppositions and presumptions. As you reckon, again, with an ongoing challenging situation, ask yourself if an old assumption could be obscuring a straightforward solution. A reconsidered idea will change things.

LIBRA SEP 24 – OCT 23

What are you meant to do when things don’t work out as planned? I’m not expecting you to answer this question. This is not a test. I know, that like any other rational person, you know the first thing you should do is make every effort to put things right. If that doesn’t work (or is too difficult or daunting) you need to try as hard as you can to accept what you can’t change. You’re dealing with a challenging situation and wondering how many more options you can try. Don’t give up. You may yet find that you can fix it.

AQUARIUS JAN 21 – FEB 19

Belief isn’t something that can be explained, analysed or justified. Like love, you either feel it or you don’t. No amount of reasoning or science can talk you either into or out of it. When your heart tells you something’s worth supporting, you don’t need to consult your head. Somewhere in your world, you need to overcome a lack of belief. That’s why the cosmos is preparing an option that’s agreeable to both your head and your heart. If you summon some faith, you’ll find that a perceived problem is no issue at all.

CANCER JUN 23 – JUL 23

We’re all good at some things, and less able when we turn our hand to others. We take pride in our achievements and turn a blind eye to the activities that we don’t find so easy. If we don’t think about them we can manage to convince ourselves that we’re exceptionally talented, which is all well and good until life eventually puts us to the test. It takes bravery to find the willpower to keep pitting your wits against a problem that seems to be impossible to solve. But how else will you make progress? Be courageous today.

SCORPIO OCT 24 – NOV 22

When we first meet someone, we often ask them where they’re from. It’s a safe, social strategy that opens up an easy conversation of a geographical nature. Inwardly, we may make a judgment about the location they name. A good place? A bad place? Yet, the truth is that no one knows where they really come from. Where were we before we arrived on this spinning ball of rock? Since we all come from a place of great mystery, why shouldn’t something truly wonderful occur in your life today? The answer is there’s no reason at all.

PISCES FEB 20 – MAR 20

We intuitively know that there’s safety in numbers. That’s why, even when we disagree on the complexities of an issue, we stick together and rally around points of agreement. But you know who sometimes hides away in the details? Just suppose a sulphur-smelling devil is lurking in the midst of your agreement? Some people would argue that, even then, it’s best to carry on — at least until you can see how many other folk have joined you in pinching their noses. Don’t be tempted to do what everyone else does today.

?? ?? Dear Oscar, I’m a musician and have had a hard time over the last year. Is there much hope ahead? Yours, Tom. Hi Tom, Jupiter’s recent move into Pisces calls for renewed faith and optimism. As the planet of entertainment, opportunity and luck transits through the sign of soulful compassion and inspiring imagination, it’s a boon for the arts and creativity. Though its progress won’t be linear, and its effects will take time, exciting prospects await. Yours, Oscar.
