Roosters ready for semi-final match up

-

TOUCH: Sharks and Roosters will put it all on the line Saturday in the A1 Men’s knockout semi-final.

Sharks will start as slight favourites in the knockout clash but little has separated the teams all season.

Roosters will head into the clash with a degree of confidence having welcomed back coach and key man Dan O’Brien.

O’Brien, who missed the last game between the two sides due to injury, adds a wealth of skill and leadership to the Roosters squad.

In the major semi-final Saints play Rebels Hurricanes with a place in the grand final going to the winner.

Rebels Hurricanes have been the form team all year but this game could go either way.

The teams met two weeks ago and played out an exciting draw.

With the Covid enforced lockdown over, Saints will be able to field their strongest side and will be confident of progressing to yet another grand final.

The match however could be decided by Queensland representatives Sam Carmody (Saints) and Cody Green (Rebels Hurricanes).

In the women’s minor semifinal Roosters will play Fairholme.

Fairholme will head into the game full of confidence after beating Roosters two weeks ago. Roosters however, didn’t have captain Tegan Taylor for that clash and her return will boost their chances.

In the major semi-final, defending Premiers Saints take on Sharks.

Both sides have game breakers and the match up between Rebecca Mi Mi (Sharks) and Shanae Ciesiolka (Saints) will be a highlight.
