Chilly end to winter in Downs
TOOWOOMBA and the Darling Downs can expect a chilly end to winter, with temperatures expected to dip well below the average throughout the week.
Garden City residents woke to a drizzly morning on Tuesday that developed into a cool, sunny day – conditions expected to last the next couple of days.
Bureau of Meteorology’s Helen Reid said the cool change was due to a trough moving through the state.
“The western parts of the state have already felt the effect of the air behind this trough. it’s a much cooler, drier air mass,” she said.
Frosty temperatures 2-5 degrees below the average are expected for next couple of mornings, warming up towards the weekend.
