Harley Davidsons set to roar down the Range

- PETER HARDWICK

REGISTRATIONS are still open for the Darling Downs Cruise for Cancer 2021 to roar down the Range highway this weekend.

The fundraising event will leave Frogs Hollow in Queens Park at 9am on Sunday for the ride down the range and a tour of the back roads of the Lockyer Valley to the Mulgowie Hotel.

Organised by the Darling Downs Harley Owners Group (HOG) and Rotary Club of Toowoomba City, the Cruise for Cancer is in its

20th year and raises funds for the Cancer Council of Queensland and more particularly the Olive McMahon Lodge in Toowoomba which provides accommodation for regional Queenslanders and their families while the patient seeks treatment away from home.

“This year’s Cruise for Cancer is a weekend of events kicking off from 8.30am Saturday with a Shine and Show of some of Queensland’s best motorbikes at the Darling Downs Harley Davidson shop in Taylor St followed by a 20th

anniversary dinner at the Burke and Wills Hotel on Saturday night,” Dianne Hubbard of HOG said.

Sunday’s ride down the range should reach the Mulgowie Hotel about noon.

Due to Covid-19, this year’s ride will only be open to Harley Davidson riders and their pillions.

Registrations at $40 per person includes the ride, commemorative pin, raffle ticket and lunch and will be open until Friday.
