SPECTACULAR RENOVATION

- TOM GILLESPIE

WHEN Aimee Morrisby stumbled upon her 1940s workers cottage in East Toowoomba while out for a walk two years ago, she realised the untapped potential it held despite its drab appearance.

“The feedback was the house was in need of a total overhaul and it certainly was,” she said.

The Toowoomba woman and her husband Jake, who is a licensed builder, have completely transformed the cottage on Lindsay Street into a beautiful family home.

Mrs Morrisby said the goal was to modernise the Queenslander without removing its character.

“We fell in love with the feeling we got when we walked through the first time and immediately had visions of what we could do with it,” she said.

“The layout has not changed at all, each bedroom, the lounge, dining room and bathroom remain in their original spots.”

The property will go up for auction on September 7 at 5pm.
