Science fest hits region

- RHYLEA MILLAR

SCIENCE lovers are in for a treat in the coming months when a hands-on, global program returns to Toowoomba.

The World Science Festival Qld will be back in the region with shows and engaging activities over two days.

Starting on Sunday, October 10, various events will be held at Cobb and Co Museum for a community day, followed by student day sessions on October 11.

“Visitors can look forward to a fun and exciting program this year, from talks with Queensland Museum palaeontologists and arachnologists, to learning about rocket science and how drones are used in search and rescue missions,” Queensland Museum Network CEO Dr Jim Thompson said.

“Over the past five years, more than 4000 people have attended the festival, which is encouraging to know that people look forward to this event every year and that we are continuing to foster STEM learning in young people.”

The event is supported by the State Government through its Tourism and Events Qld program. See the schedule at thechronicle.com.au.
