Speeder clocked at 139km

A WOMAN lost her licence on the spot after she was booked doing 139km/h on a country road.

Laidley Officer-in-Charge Regan Draheim said police intercepte­d the woman on Mulgowie Road, Mulgowie about 3.10am on Friday.

Police will allege the vehicle was detected travelling at 139 km/h in a 100km/h zone.

They issued the woman with a roadside breath test that returned a positive reading of 0.161 per cent.

The woman’s licence was automatica­lly suspended, and she was issued with a notice to appear in the Gatton Magistrate­s Court on September 6.

In unrelated matters, Laidley police intercepte­d a 46year-old Glenore Grove man about 2.15pm on Saturday for a roadside breath test.

The man returned a positive reading of 0.217 per cent.

Again, the man had his licence suspended on the spot and was issued with a notice to appear in the Gatton Magistrate­s Court on September 6.

Lockyer Valley police also busted a 50-year-old Laidley man doing 123km/h in a 100km/h section of LaidleyRos­ewood Road about 12.30pm on Saturday.

The man was issued with an on-the-spot fine and licence suspension.

Snr Sgt Draheim said he was disappoint­ed with the dangerous behaviour.

“I would like to remind people to take care on the roads and obey the road rules,” he said.

“Police will continue to conduct enforcemen­t and take action against drivers who don’t obey the road rules.”

A 19-year-old Brisbane man was detected travelling at 139km/h on the Brisbane Valley Highway at Ottaba.

Police further identified that he was unlicensed following a court disqualifi­cation and driving with a blood alcohol concentrat­ion of 0.161.
