CRICKET: After a number of false dawns, the Darling Dingoes are finally ready to make their mark on the Brisbane Premier League.

The competition gets underway this weekend for its inaugural season, with our Dingoes looking to create an impression in the open men and U19s divisions.

With selected games to be broadcast around the country on Kayo Sports, our cricketers will get their chance to shine in front of plenty of eyeballs.

The Chronicle has run an eye over the BPL franchise’s squad and picked out six key players to watch.

JEM RYAN (U19S)

Another young gun that we’ve been able to watch grow as a cricketer before our eyes, Ryan can make a name for himself as one of the premier bowlers in the restricted age division.

A strike bowler that we’ve witnessed for Grammar and Southern Districts, Ryan (pictured) had a breakout season, averaging 20 with the bat and 17 with the ball, including a five-wicket haul.

Also a rep AFL player growing up, Ryan is set for a big year.

“He’s the main fast bowler in the squad and a big hitting middle order batsman,” Anderson said.

“Jem has been a good performer in the DDBBL.”
