MEN
OLIVER HARDING (RED LION)
The young striker has had no problems finding his way in a side as talented as Red Lion as they secured the minor premiership.
Still at just 16, Harding notched the remarkable feat of scoring against every team throughout the season.
“Oliver has slotted into the forward line when we’ve needed and has played with experience beyond his years,” coach Scott Downs said.
WILL SUEY (NORTHS)
A talented defender from Norths, Suey has representative experience with Toowoomba and Queensland.
The 17-year-old has shown a willingness to attack the ball, and has earned praise for being able to shut down some of the competition’s elite players.
“He’s a defender that we’ve seen massive improvement from,” coach Kris Glass said.
“He fights above his weight and has been taking down some really good attacking players.”
WOMEN JESSICA WALLACE (PAST HIGH)
A midfielder that works with a big motor, Wallace has played a key role in helping Past High to the minor premiership.
A representative with the Toowoomba side, the 18year-old continues to mature her game. “Typically a midfielder, she plays a key role of nullifying the influence of opponents key mids,” Cook said.
“She works hard and has matured over the course of the season.”
TESS HENARE (RED LION)
An absolute dynamo in front of goal, 18-year-old Henare has been one of the form strikers in the competition, and has rep experience in both field and indoor hockey.
Despite a shoulder injury keeping her out for a large portion of the season, Henare was the equal leading scorer.
“She’s been playing a lot of minute,” Cook said.
“Tess is pretty strong on both sides of her body, but has a lethal backhand if given space.”
