Roosters fall short in thriller

TOUCH: Extra time was needed to settle the Men’s A1 preliminar­y final at the weekend.

Little seperated the two sides in the clash with Rebels Hurricanes able to edge out Roosters 6-5.

The two teams traded touchdowns in the first half and went into the break locked up 3-3 at halftime.

In the second half the teams threw everything at each other in attack and Rebels Hurricanes were first to score.

Late in the game Roosters were able to score two quick tries to take the lead with only minutes remaining, but with seconds remaining Rebels Hurricanes scored to tie the game up and the sides went into a drop-off.

To the halftime break Roosters had the ball first and looked to have scored but it was called forward and Rebels Hurricanes were able to score to move through to their second grand final against Saints.

In the women’s preliminar­y final Sharks defeated Fairholme 4-2 win to secure a grand final berth against Saints.

In a dominant first half Sharks played strongly to go into the halftime break up 3-0.

Fairholme were full of running in the second half but couldn’t peg Sharks back.
