Police drop cough count

TOOWOOMBA police have dropped a charge of serious assault against a woman who police claimed had deliberately coughed on a watch house officer.

Alice Margaret Hartill, 31, was not required to be in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Thursday when police prosecutor Cameron Francis told the court police would not be offering any evidence in relation to the case.

Magistrate Graham Lee therefore dismissed the case.
