Second location for chain

- TOM GILLESPIE

A NATIONAL arts and crafts chain will double its footprint in Toowoomba after announcing it would open a shop in a newly-revamped city shopping centre.

Kaisercraft, which has 65 stores across the country, has signed a seven-year lease for a 350 sqm tenancy in the Wilsonton Shopping Centre.

The new Wilsonton shop will employ five people once fit-out is completed next month.

The centre was bought by Consolidated Properties Group and CVS Lane Capital Partners in 2019 for $50m and has already halfway through a two-stage redevelopment worth about $40m.

Kaisercraft spokeswoman Jadranka Erceg said the strong reception to the first outlet gave the company the confidence to press ahead with a new store after a tough period for the retail sector.

“It’s been a big team effort to say the least,” she said.

“Our team has a positive attitude and a strong drive to make our range of lifestyle products accessible across Australia.”
