HOME IS WHERE THE SHOP IS
THEY’VE only been set up for a little over a month, but business is already booming for new mechanic Scott McDermott.
“The shop is full,” he said.
The new business owner is putting the final touches to his new River Rd shop, Garage 95, but customers are already lining up.
But while he and co-owner Jess O’Meagher might have only set up shop in town recently, Scott will be a familiar face for many, having grown up in Kingaroy, spending nearly 10 years there after finishing his apprenticeship before relocating to Bundaberg.
But after several years there, including running his own shop for the past two years, the couple decided to come back to the South Burnett. “(I decided) to come home – there’s more opportunity,” he said.
Since starting to take bookings in late July, they’ve been run off their feet with local support.
“People are coming in just from word of mouth,” he said.
“We do everything, from a service through to building a race car.”
