WINNING SNAP SHOWS LIFE IN LOCKDOWN
AN IMAGE highlighting family experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic has emerged as a major winner in one of Australia’s longestrunning photographic competitions.
Queensland photographer Netal Lucas landed $15,000 for his snap of an afternoon tea during lockdown, which took home the open category prize in the Heritage Bank Photographic Awards.
South Australian snapper Jakob Kennedy won the themed category, which also netted him $15,000.
Westbrook photographer Margaret Kebble won the Alwyn Kucks Memorial Award for an image that was inspired by her pet parrot playing with a Rubik’s cube.
This award was open to entrants residing within a 50km radius of Toowoomba.
Heritage Bank CEO Mr Peter Lock said the awards attracted more than 2300 entries from across Australia.
