DADS COST LESS

-

FATHER’S Day will deliver an $800m spending boom to the economy, but it’s nowhere near the amount of money spent on mums.

Australian Retailers Association research showed an average of $93 would be spent on dad this year, and Queenslanders would fork out the most ($112 each), while South Australians would be the thriftiest ($63).

QUT marketing professor Gary Mortimer said data showed 10 per cent more was spent on Mother‘s Day gifts.

Alcohol and food (28 per cent) topped the list of most popular gifts for dads.
