China relationship

-

OVER the course of the pandemic, Australia’s relationship with China has soured much, as the Morrison Government has initiated an inquiry into the origins of COVID-19.

What China cannot stand for is Australia’s close ties and friendship with the United States.

But what China needs to understand is that we have been a signatory of the ANZUS Treaty for 70 years.

There is a lot of Australian history there, and it is not something that we can just turn away from, nor do we have the desire to abandon our close friendship with the United States.

China is just going to have to accept that we are a loyal friend of the US, and if they don’t like that, then too bad.
