WEEKEND THE TIME TO CELEBRATE OUR DADS

-

FAMILIES across Toowoomba and the Downs are gearing up to celebrate the region’s dads.

Dad-and-son duos yesterday teamed up for the Toowoomba Grammar School’s annual billy kart race, the start of a busy schedule for Father’s Day on Sunday.

Dads and father figures are encouraged to head along to a free barbecue and games afternoon today.

The event at Newtown Park runs from 2-4pm.

“There will be a free sausage sizzle, free soft drinks, ball games and paper plane making,” Toowoomba City Church senior pastor Will Curtis said.

“Simple is best – that’s the way men like it.

“It will be a great avenue for dads to have fun with their kids and meet other Dads.”

Toowoomba Dads Group will host the first-ever Man With A Pram event at Newtown Park on Sunday from 9.30am.

The event brings fathers, families and friends together for a walk and community event to combat isolation and bring community together.

It is one of 23 Man With A Pram events being held across Australia on the same day.
