Police searching after pair crashed stolen ute

THE Department of Correction­s has revoked the parole of a mother wanted for her role in crashing a stolen Toyota HiLux into a Newtown home.

Police will allege the woman was with her 12-yearold son when they stole the ute from a Mulga Court home about 2pm on Sunday.

The pair is alleged to have lost control of the vehicle and crashed it into a nearby home. They fled on foot. While the mum got away, police arrested her son a short distance from the scene.

A police spokesman said officers were tracking the woman on Monday night and when they caught her she would be returned to prison.

The boy was brought before Toowoomba Children’s Court on Monday charged with two counts each of unlawfully using a motor vehicle and entering and committing an indictable offence, and one count each of attempted enter with intent, fraud, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed driving.

Magistrate Damian Carroll refused the boy’s bail, citing the negative influence that was his mother.
