NEW KIDS’ BOOK WITH OLD MESSAGE

-

TOOWOOMBA author Tegan Marschke is preparing to release her latest kids’ book with a series of readings at kindergarten across the city.

The book is titled Fear … Do as I Say and Go Away and aims to help kids settle into bed at night.

Ms Marschke has funded the book through a Kickstarter campaign and has reached about 75 per cent of the money needed to start a print run.

“I am grateful for all of the support I am getting,” she said.

“I am excited to be able to share my book with more people.

“I can’t wait to help more parents and children with their night-time fears.”

The book is based on the Bible passage, 2 Timothy 1:7 that says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Ms Marschke said the book had great potential to help other children to learn they had authority over fear.

“I want mothers to feel empowered and know their worth, to create strategies, resources and tools they can use to parent effectively and with less stress.”
