Political football

AS OF September 1, politicians, both sides, state and federal, are making Covid a political stunt.

And we, the public aren’t doing much better. A lot are vaccinated while a minority of foolhardy people for many and various reasons refuse the protection. Why? Only they can guess the reason.

Covid may be with us to stay, but that doesn’t mean we don’t need to take precautions to keep cases and deaths to an absolute minimum.

Having lived with someone who contacted Covid before it was announced in Australia, and who spent a week in the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital being tested and treated for a then “unknown” virus, later confirmed to have been Covid, we can assure you that the ongoing effects are long lasting and very debilitating.

Yet infected persons are now crossing the Qld/NSW border putting Qld at a very real risk of facing a lockdown. To date Qld has proved we can, with common sense and no border hoppers, remain Covid free. Let’s keep it that way.
