Lotto draw nets couple nearly $3m

-

A YOUNG Darling Downs couple is nearly $3 million richer after only a few months testing the water with Gold Lotto entries.

The young Goondiwindi pair took home $2,857,142.86 in Saturday’s draw, which they said was won using their lucky numbers.

It was one of seven winning entries across the country.

“We’ve been trying to contain ourselves since we checked the ticket last night,” they said.

“We didn’t want to get too excited until the news was confirmed. But I suppose we can now!

“It certainly hasn’t sunk in. We both feel so overwhelmed.

“We only recently decided to start playing a couple of months ago. We marked our numbers with our birthdays. This is so surreal.”

The pair said the win would “set us up”.

“It’s going to be awesome,” they said.

“We’re not too sure at the moment and with Covid. We’re a little bit stuck but we will certainly start travelling as soon as we can.

The winning entry was purchased online.
