Allpass whacks Hamilton

- TOM GILLESPIE

THE ALP’S Groom candidate has hit back at MP Garth Hamilton over his defence of Health Minister Greg Hunt, saying the Federal Government bungled its vaccine deal with Pfizer.

Gen Allpass, who will face off against Mr Hamilton at the next federal election, took to social media to lash the government over emails that revealed it took Mr Hunt two months to schedule another meeting with Pfizer in June last year.

Mr Hamilton called the attack from Labor “desperate”, saying Mr Hunt’s office had already met with Pfizer in May.

Mrs Allpass said the government had displayed “smirk and mirrors” over the ordeal.

“The fact is the correspondence shows a five-month gap between Pfizer urging to meet the Minister and the signing of Australia’s first 10 million-dose Pfizer contract because the Morrison Government ignored Pfizer’s request for urgent meetings,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

“Pfizer made clear it wanted to move quickly and said it had the potential to supply millions of doses in 2020.

“Enough of the cover-ups — we’re all sick of it.”
