DOG COLLAR PILFERING

Several complaints have been made in Toowoomba of late (says the Toowoomba “Chronicle” of 0th March), as to the acts of certain people – acts which can be described as nothing, but mean and despicable. It is time something was done to catch the thief who takes the collars from dogs in Toowoomba, an offence which is more aggravating to dog owners, since the council are taking such stringent steps to destroy all unidentified dogs.

A well known local dog breeder instances several cases of dog-collar stealing, and it is hoped that the police will take the matter in hand.

THIS DOG EARNED HIS KEEP

Toowoomba: A two-year-old kangaroo dog, owned by Mr EJ Stower, of Cambooya (Q’ld) caught and killed 14 fully grown foxes on Mr Stower’s and his neighbor’s properties in the last two weeks. Mr Stower brought to Toowoomba last week a photograph of the 14 fox pelts.

The foxes had come into the area after turkeys.
