Driver charged after buggy crash kills girl, 6
A MAN has been charged over a horrifying buggy crash that killed a young girl at a rural Victorian property.
Police say the 33-year-old man was driving the off-road buggy with five girls and two boys on-board at a farming property in Dennison Rd, Rosedale, on Saturday when it rolled in a paddock about 4pm.
A six-year-old girl was flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries but later died.
A four-year-old girl was also flown to hospital with serious injuries, while the driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The five other children on-board the buggy at the time were assessed by paramedics at the scene and taken to hospital with a variety of non-life-threatening injuries.
On Monday morning, police said the Rosedale man had been charged over the incident.
He was set to appear in Sale Magistrates Court charged with culpable driving, dangerous driving causing death, reckless conduct endangering life and recklessly cause injury.
Rosedale is a small town about 184km east of Melbourne in the Gippsland region.
