COLOUR FLOATS THROUGH

- RHYLEA MILLAR

TOOWOOMBA will be in full bloom this weekend when brightly coloured and decorated floats take to the streets.

More than 60 floats will feature in the iconic Grand Central Floral Parade, with entrants applying the finishing touches to their projects.

“There is lots of work still being done behind closed doors (after) many voluntary hours, which is a remarkable reflection on this region’s pride, commitment and resilience to see so many dedicated individuals and businesses coming together for this event,” Grand Central marketing manager Marieke Bridgeman said.

“The iconic parade will return to the streets of Toowoomba, at the new time of 10am, and our community can expect to be entertained by street performers, carnival characters and roving entertainment escorting the stunning floral floats.”

The Grand Central Floral Parade will start at 10am on September 18.

Departing from the corner of Herries and Hume Sts, the parade will conclude at Godsall St Oval.
