- MICHAEL NOLAN

QUEENSLAND Ambulance Service paramedics transported a boy to the Toowoomba Hospital after three vehicles collided in Harristown.

Paramedics, police and firefighters were called to the incident on South Street shortly after 8am yesterday.

A QAS spokeswoman said the boy was hospitalised as a precaution after he suffered a minor abdominal injury.

It comes after emergency services were called to rescue a person who had fallen down an embankment at the base of Picnic Point near the intersection of Old Toll Bar Road and Stevenson Road about 9pm on Tuesday.

It took about an hour to retrieve the person and carry them by stretcher to a nearby ambulance.

The QAS spokeswoman said the patient suffered minor ankle and spinal injuries.
