FEST TO BE HELD IN OUR BACKYARD

A POPULAR Queensland music festival is bringing some of the country’s biggest electronic and dance artists to the Garden City.

North Queensland event The Grass Is Greener has announced a new touring festival called The Backyard Series.

The upcoming festival will set up in Queens Park on Saturday, November 6, headlined by ARIA award-winners Peking Duk.

Joining this well-known duo are North East Party House, Sydney electro-pop artist Boo Seeka, Will Sparks, Jade Zoe, Jesswar and Tenzin.

Event founder Oli Frost said he was excited to bring “an amazing showcase” to Queensland communitie­s.

“We feel obligated to bring entertainm­ent and community fun to these towns and we can’t wait to have one hell of a backyard bash,” he said.

The event will also be held in Townsville, Mackay and Gladstone.

Tickets to The Backyard Series go on sale on Thursday, September 23.

They are $79 and can be purchased from thegrassis­greener.com.au.
