DRUG raids carried out across the Tara District on the Western Downs uncovered two drug farms, sending their alleged green-thumbed owners to court.

The drug raids were carried out simultaneously at the rural properties on Thursday, September 9, where police uncovered multiple marijuana plants.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said police also found a grow room with four plants at a Fagans Rd property.

The spokesman said a 54year-old Weranga man was charged with producing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of crime, and possessing utensils.

“(Police also) allegedly located electrical equipment including fans, transformers, power boards, water filters and heat lamps,” he said.

The spokesman said a 41year-old Tara man had allegedly grown three plants at his Emu Parade home.

The man faces several drugs charges and both men have a date with the Dalby Magistrates Court.
