Alleged thief ‘hits witness’
A MAN allegedly received several blows to the face after he witnessed the theft of cigarettes at a Dalby fish and chip shop.
Police say a Warra man entered Northside Convenience and Takeaway Shop at 6.31pm on Saturday and asked to look at a carton of cigarettes.
Sergeant Sean Donaghy said it’s alleged the man picked them up and walked out of the store without paying, before he punched a witness three times.
A 34-year-old was charged with stealing but no assault complaint was made. He will face court on September 28.
