State has one new Covid case
QUEENSLAND yesterday recorded one new case of Covid-19, a student at St Thomas Moore College who is in home quarantine and is not considered a risk.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the state delivered more than 25,000 vaccines – a new daily record.
There are 57.63 per cent of Queenslanders with one dose and 39.35 per cent have had two doses.
“It doesn’t matter where you get the vaccine from, as long as you get it,” Ms Palaszczuk said.
“I summon Queenslanders to sign up for the jab army.”
Ms Palaszczuk’s announced over 60s could now get a Pfizer jab from 80 state-run clinics from this Saturday as everyone over the age of 12 is invited to come forward for a jab.
The move marks a shift away from older people being offered AstraZeneca only at most clinics and comes as it can be revealed fewer people have been turning up at GPs and chemists to get jabbed with AstraZeneca or Pfizer.
Data shows a month ago, on August 15, 89,235 people got vaccinated through the state program, and 171,011 at GPs and chemists.
