Q. WHAT ARE THE RARE SIDE EFFECTS?

-

A.A severe allergic reaction to the vaccine is rare and would usually occur within a few minutes to one hour after receiving a dose of the Moderna vaccine. This is why a vaccination provider may ask you to wait for a period of time for monitoring after you receive the vaccine.

Myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) and pericarditis (inflammation of the lining outside the heart) have occurred in some people who have received the Moderna vaccine.

In most cases, symptoms began within a few days after the second dose.

Both conditions require diagnosis by a doctor and are based on medical history, a physical examination and diagnostic tests.

?? ?? Inflammation of the heart muscle is an extremely rare side effect of the Moderna vaccine.
