Pay carnival respects

-

WE ALL know what Carnival of Flowers means – that’s when the home gardeners put the welcome map out and invite visitors to enjoy their wonderful love and gardening and all things blooming.

There are advertised opening times for the gardens, both home gardens and exhibition gardens.

This is different to other years, so if visitors could be respectful to these times and identify it is a privilege to be invited into these private gardens.

These gardeners have worked tirelessly for many decades and are proud of their homes and gardens and as visitors we also need to be as respectful.

Don’t take clippings from the garden.

Some have plant stalls and items for sale, park appropriately in neighbourhoods as this is also about community and if you see the gardeners onsite acknowledge their efforts.

Some gardens that have been previous entrants may have signage to advise their garden is not open in 2021 – just drive on.

And also remember, the gardens you visited last year and the year before may not be entrants in 2021.

Happy carnival in the gardens. Barb McGovern Toowoomba
