POPULAR PUB MAY REOPEN
THE team behind one of Warwick’s most popular restaurants and pubs has indicated the venue could soon reopen more than a year after its sudden and mysterious closure.
The Malt House Warwick has been closed since a fire tore through the Wood St venue in May last year, causing close to $250,000 in damage.
A number of furniture items were then removed from the building in August last year, which a Malt House spokesman said were being taken to the pub’s “sister establishment”, Prohibition Brisbane.
After more than a year of silence from the pub’s management, a job ad was posted to Seek on Sunday searching for a new venue manager.
It states the pub will trade from 8pm – 2am on Fridays and Saturdays with the potential for future growth.
While the pub’s management has remained adamant the venue would be reopening, the ad is the first sign of the venue’s return.
Malt House management did not respond before deadline.
