WEETWOOD RACE MEET TICKETS RUN OUT THE DOOR

-

IF YOU were hoping to score a lastminute ticket to Weetwood this weekend, you’re out of luck.

Toowoomba Turf Club chief executive officer Lizzy King confirmed the iconic race meet sold out earlier this week.

“We’ve had an incredible response by Toowoomba and the Downs residents – they want to be with us on Weetwood day, that’s abundantly clear,” she said.

More than 5000 people will be trackside for the event on Saturday.

Ms King said while the event still had crowd restrictions, it was great news for the club.

“Our reserved dining sold out in record time very early in the piece,” she said.

“To sell out of general admission with days to go is incredibly exciting.

“It’s important to note that the club has ensured it is compliant with continuing Covid restrictions and patron density numbers.

“We are also expecting larger numbers for entrants in our Laser Clinics Australia Fashions On The Field competition.

“The weather is looking spectacular for the weekend, so we are excited to see the fabulous fashions.”

The event will cap off a packed September for the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.
