Charges for fatal car crash

A MAN has been charged with multiple offences over a horror crash on the Southern Downs that killed one woman and seriously injured another.

Police said a Toyota SUV was travelling westbound on Somerville Rd at Storm King about 11.15pm on May 14, when the car veered from the road and struck a tree before rolling.

A 46-year-old Pine Mountain woman died at the scene, and a 38-year-old woman was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Police charged a 39-yearold Deebing Heights man with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and driving under the influence, after months of investigation.

He is due to appear in Stanthorpe Magistrates Court on December 15.
